Youth & Families
As followers of Christ we are dedicated to supporting our young people and their care-givers as they explore what it means to be a disciple. Connect with one of our Bishopric coordinators or go to straight to the resources page.
Children & Families Coordinator
Rev Ellen Bernstein
As the children and families ministry coordinator, Rev Ellen Bernstein is looking forward to engaging with parishes across the Waikato bishopric that are fostering a culture of prayer at home and at church. She is keen to encourage the faith of young Christians (pre-schoolers and up), helping them take their place as followers of Jesus in the world and in the Church.

So, what is my job? How do I see things right now? Well, for starters I need to connect with the people out there who have youth groups in action, with most of the wheels turning at least. Knowing what exists in the wider community will help to shine a light on a way forward for those parishes needing help. This is all about building relationships and sharing resources. I have to be available for those that have ideas and brainstorm ways to engage youth. To bring them in. Out of their homes, away from their mobile phones and tablets and outside of their comfort zones. To challenge them to think and become confident in their abilities. To make new friends because we are all in this together.
